What this site sets today

• pll_language — remembers the language you picked. It is set by our multilingual plugin (Polylang), it is functional, and it lasts up to 1 year.
• Your browser's local storage — remembers that you dismissed the language suggestion bar, for 30 days.
• _ga and _ga_<container-id> — set by Google Analytics. They tell us whether a visit is new or returning and keep one visit together as a session. They last up to 2 years.
• HMACCOUNT, Hm_lvt_<site-id> and Hm_lpvt_<site-id> — set by Baidu Tongji. HMACCOUNT marks your browser on Baidu's side and is kept until 2038; Hm_lvt_<site-id> records when your visits started (up to 1 year) and Hm_lpvt_<site-id> when the current page was viewed (until you close the browser).

We set no advertising cookies, no social-media pixels and no third-party embeds.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are useful. It is Google's product, and Google processes the data on our instructions. We do not use it for advertising.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the Google cookies are not set and nothing is read from or stored on your device: the Google tag only sends a cookie-less signal there. If we later offer a choice, this page will say so first.

We also use Baidu Tongji (百度统计), Baidu's statistics service, to count visits and see which pages are useful; Baidu processes that data on our instructions. Baidu Tongji has no regional settings, so its cookies are set for all visitors; you can block or delete them like any other cookie.

You can block or delete the analytics cookies in your browser settings; the site works exactly the same without them.

How to control cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The language cookie is functional: if you block it the site still works and falls back to the default language.
