如何解读该数据。 它按全分期合并发布，因此是全国登记数据中所有人的平均值，而不是对某个人的预后。对多数癌症而言，确诊时的分期是生存差异背后最强的单一因素：通常，癌症发现得越早，生存率越高；发现得越晚，越低。不同癌症之间的比较也受到各自通常确诊早晚的影响，因此一个较低的数值本身并不意味着诊疗更差。
该数值是相对生存率：它把被诊断患此癌的人与一般人群中同年龄、同性别的人相比较，且为年龄标准化，因此它不是五年后仍存活患者所占的比例。它以估计值（混合分析）发布，因为登记报告存在滞后，故国家癌症中心对最近一段时期作了模型估计。作为参照，同一来源发布 2019–2021 年全部癌症合计的五年相对生存率为 43.7%。
